Instant summer glow with a few well-placed sweeps of bronzer? Yes, please!

Nobody said the journey to rocking a healthy bronzed look will be an entirely smooth sailing ride. Bronzers are designed in so many shapes and sizes that it can get confusing. But there is nothing to worry about! Decode the different types of bronzers, find the best match for your skin type and learn how they can be best applied in this article.

Powder

The most common bronzer type, powder bronzer is exceptionally versatile and beginner friendly. It is a dream to blend and a lot more forgiving when it comes to makeup mistakes. Our Organic Face Bronzer in a powder compact is great for all skin types, especially if you have oily or combination skin as the powder formula helps to absorb excess oil and reduce shine.

Quick to apply, swirl a large fluffy powder brush or angled brush on the bronzing powder compact and tap off any excess. Sweep the brush across your forehead and down to the cheekbones before buffing your jawline for an all-over glow. Matte bronzing shades can double up as a contour as well, swipe it along the sides of your nose to make it appear smaller or straighter.

Cream

Ideal for normal, dry, or mature skin type, cream bronzers offer the most beautiful natural finish and it does not settle into fine lines or on dry patches. Cream bronzers deliver heavier coverage than powder and its silky texture glides smoothly over your skin. It is best paired with liquid or cream foundation.

To apply a cream bronzer that is in a compact format, use a makeup sponge to pick up some product and blend it into your skin. If it is in a stick format, you can apply it directly onto your skin and blend out the pigments using your fingers or a beauty sponge. Be sure to save any powder beauty products, such as a setting powder, for last as you do not want a splotchy finish.

Gel

Gel bronzers are great for mixing or layering with other beauty products. These lightweight medium-to-full coverage bronzers glide on smoothly and feel comfortable to wear. It can be applied using your fingers before foundation for a lit-from-within glow, or after foundation for incredible luminance. In addition, gel bronzers can be mixed with foundation and applied on your entire face for an all-over glow.

Liquid

Best for dry skin or for women who desire a dewy finish, liquid bronzers are similar to gel bronzers in that they are both lightweight and mix well with other beauty products. It can be applied before or after foundation using a beauty sponge or liquid foundation brush onto the apples of your cheeks, temples, nose bridge. Blend it out in a circular motion for a gorgeous looking glow.

There is no right or wrong way to wear a bronzer and one product is not necessarily better than the other. Find your best fit by considering your skin type and comfort level when it comes to using each bronzer type!
