6 Beauty Products You Can Use To Highlight

Ran out of your favorite highlighter?

Fret not, a solution may very well be sitting on your beauty shelf. These 6 beauty products can double up as a highlighter to help you achieve a spellbinding glow when the occasion calls for it.

1. Eyeshadow

An eyeshadow palette typically includes a highlight shade that is used on brow bones. This matte or shimmering shade can substitute your regular highlighter to accentuate the high planes of your face while looking natural. Simply use a blush brush or your fingertips to pick up some eyeshadow and dab them onto places where you wish to reflect light.

2. Vaseline / Lip Balm

Achieve a natural dewy glow with the help of Vaseline or a clear lip balm. Rub some product between your fingers to warm them up and lightly press it onto your skin after foundation and blend it out. You can end your makeup look here or if you have loose ultra-fine glitter pigments on hand, you can pat them over where you applied Vaseline or lip balm.

3. Shimmering Lipstick

Sparkling lipsticks in light brown tones can double up as a highlighter. But if you only have dazzling light pink lipsticks on hand, you can still use them on your cheeks as a blush and bring it just slightly upward to where you would place highlights on your cheekbones for a slight hint of shine.

4. Lip Gloss

If an ultra-dewy wet look is your vibe, you can turn your clear lip gloss into a highlighting product by depositing some gloss onto your finger before patting it across your cheekbones as the final step. However, we do not recommend this for women with oily skin as it can end up giving you a greasy appearance especially on a hot summer day.

5. Concealer

Have a concealer that is 2-3 shades lighter than your skin tone? You’re in luck! After concealing your dark under eye circles, blend the concealer on your cheekbones and nose bridge for a natural looking highlight.

6. Illuminating Face Primer

Reuse your illuminating face primer by applying it onto areas where you want extra glow after you have applied foundation. Finish your look by dusting on translucent powder and applying a few spritzes of makeup setting spray.

With these 6 highlighting alternatives, you will never be caught off guard without your glow on. Be sure to set your makeup with few generous coats of facial mist so you can enjoy the confidence of sporting youthful radiance.
